Macland Community Church was established by our dedicated members in November of 2023 and subsequently became a part of the Global Methodist Church. Pastors Lee and Judy, alongside our Leadership Council, are committed to upholding our leadership philosophy, which centers on the collaboration and synergy of our laity, clergy, and staff as we strive toward our mission and values. Our evolving culture is guided by foundational core values.

As a member of the Global Methodist Church, we abide by the GMC’s mission statement of “The Global Methodist Church exists to make disciples of Jesus Christ and spread scriptural holiness across the globe.” We also live into the GMC’s vision of “Through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, the Global Methodist Church envisions multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ throughout the earth who flourish in scriptural holiness as we worship passionately, love extravagantly, and witness boldly.”

Our Core
Values

Our values-based church culture embraces all people in a welcoming, casual environment with joyful worship. We will bring all ages into one service with both familiar hymns and newly released songs for expressive praise, have a time of prayer ministry, biblically faithful sermons, and follow Holy Spirit’s leadership together. We want to see every person connected with a small group for support and transformation.

We will live into God’s call to go into all the world with the gospel and make disciples of Jesus Christ. All of this is grounded in powerful prayer seeking the counsel of God and trusting that the power that raised Jesus from the dead is at work in us. 

Intentionally Multigenerational

Engaging all ages with the gospel, one another, blended worship, excellent age-level discipleship, and gatherings friendly for all ages.

Community Based Discipleship

We believe disciples are sanctified by God’s grace in community/small groups, watching over one another in love. We offer groups for all ages and stages of life. We offer Holy Spirit Encounters to bring us together in unity as God ministers to us.

Kingdom
Building Mission

We share the gospel with our neighbors and the nations through relationships, testifying of our faith in Jesus Christ paired with deeds of mercy. We are equipped to be evangelistic disciple-makers who support our Missional Partners in the Macland/West Cobb area and globally.

Prayer

We seek God through biblically faithful, worship-based prayer. We join Jesus in his ministry of intercession for healing, deliverance, and salvation for all people. We are praying for revival in our land.

Grace

We believe all people are created by God and persons of worth and can become children of God by faith in Jesus Christ. We are a Global Methodist Church and believe salvation is found only in Jesus Christ’s death and resurrection, received by faith as a gift from God.

Judy received her BS from University of Tennessee at Martin and also attended Asbury Theological Seminary.
Fueled by a relentless passion for Christ, Judy doesn’t just serve – she revolutionizes! Juggling the responsibilities of pastoral leadership with the demands of raising a family and pursuing her own academic excellence, she’s a force to be reckoned with.
But Judy’s dynamism doesn’t stop there. She’s a visionary, forging powerful partnerships with cross-racial churches, pregnancy crisis centers, and district leadership teams, breaking down barriers and building bridges of love and understanding.

Director of Family Ministry

Meet DeDe, the dynamo of delight in North Georgia’s ministry scene for over two decades! She’s like a kid-loving, Jesus-fueled whirlwind, spreading joy and faith like confetti. Catch her sipping afternoon tea, soaking up scriptures like a satisfied sponge. Married to Bob since their LSU days, she’s not just a mom to two, but two more added to the mix, and proudly wears the title of Mimi to four adorable littles. Life with DeDe? It’s a tea party with a sprinkle of divine inspiration!

Jason Pendley

Worship Leader

Jason Pendley serves as the Worship Leader at Macland Community Church, where he has been leading our music and AV worship team since January of this year. His passion for leading worship began in high school, with both leading and writing worship music. With over 25 years of experience in church plants and building worship teams with students and adults, Jason brings both skill and heart to our worship ministry.
More than just a staff member, Jason is a valued part of our church family. He leads with a deep love for Christ and a desire to create meaningful and authentic worship experiences. In addition to his role at Macland, he also works in his family’s business, Mayes Ward-Dobbins Funeral Home.

Kelly Goldson-Vaas

Ministry Administrative Assistant

Kelly Goldson-Vaas is a dedicated administrator, educator, and author passionate about ministry and community service. With prior experience in front desk administration, she has developed strong organizational, customer service, and computer skills. As a Bible teacher and leader at Heart of Hosanna Ministries, she manages finances, oversees outreach programs, and coordinates events such as women’s conferences and fundraising initiatives to support families in need across the U.S., India, Kenya, and the Middle East. She holds a B.A. in English with a minor in Biblical Studies from Nazarene Bible College and earned a district license to practice in ministry in 2013. A published author of five faith-based books, Kelly is passionate about helping women heal and find hope. She strives to integrate integrity, efficiency, and compassion into all aspects of her work. Residing in downtown Atlanta with her husband, she continues to pursue her calling with patience and dedication.

Kelly plays a vital role in our church community, serving as the linchpin of our social media efforts. Whether it’s managing our social media presence, maintaining our website, or creating engaging printed materials, Kelly ensures that our message reaches our congregation and beyond. With a natural talent for graphic design, Kelly’s creations add vibrancy and professionalism to our communications. Beyond her technical skills, Kelly’s dedication to keeping our laity and staff informed is unmatched. She tirelessly ensures that everyone is in the know about upcoming church events, important announcements, and valuable information for our social media channels. Kelly’s contributions are invaluable in fostering connection and engagement within our church family.

Sharon Ellis

Director of Finance and Operations

Sharon Ellis is a dynamic financial leader with over two decades of experience spanning accounting, finance, and operational management in both corporate and nonprofit sectors. As Director of Finance and Operations at Macland Community Church, Sharon ensures the church’s financial health by overseeing everything from preparing detailed monthly and annual reports to managing payroll and handling donor contributions with the utmost confidentiality. She also collaborates closely with the SPRC, Trustees, and Finance Team, driving key initiatives in human resources and building operations.

A Certified Public Accountant since 1998, Sharon holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Texas Tech University. Beyond her professional roles, Sharon is a passionate volunteer, serving as treasurer for various organizations and booster clubs, where she excels at financial setup, budgeting, and maintaining nonprofit status. She is also a notary.

Fiona Rainwater

Family Ministry Coordinator

Fiona is a current graduate student at University of West Georgia working as one of the MacKids interns in the nursery. When she’s not writing papers, she spends her time with family and friends, working at the Aviation History and Technology Center, or just overall relaxing. You will also most likely find her wandering in a museum somewhere.
